Electric Idol | Author Interview

I absolutely love books by Katee Robert and I’m so excited to be able to spotlight her new book, Electric Idol, and also share an interview with her today.

Welcome Katee! Thank you for allowing me to interview you! Can you start off by introducing yourself?

Hi! Thank you so much for having me. I’m Katee Robert and I’m an author of a wide variety of romance novels, mostly on the spicy end of the scale.

How would you describe Electric Idol in one sentence?

A marriage of convenience with a fake relationship and real sex.

Can you introduce us to the main character(s) of Electric Idol?

The main couple is Eros and Psyche, both the adult children of two of the most powerful people in Olympus. Psyche is a plus-sized influencer who is really smart and savvy. Eros is a golden playboy in public, but in private he’s the knife hand of his mother.

Do you know from the beginning how your books will end or do you let your characters decide their journey?

I write romance, so I’m working towards that happily ever after/happily for now at all times. The journey rarely looks like I expect when I first start writing, though. My characters like to throw me curveballs, which is honestly one of my favorite things about drafting.

Do you have a favorite scene, moment, or quote from the book?

My favorite scene is actually the moment Psyche shows up to help Eros, only to find out he was sent to kill her. In the first version of that scene, she outplayed him so effectively, I was a little afraid that I wouldn’t have anything left to write about!

What are three books you would recommend if someone enjoyed Electric Idol?

If someone is looking for more high-heat Greek myth retellings, I would recommend RM Virtues’ Drag Me Up, which is a HOT Hades and Persephone romance. If they’re looking for a fraught marriage of convenience between enemies, The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L Jensen is excellent. If they’re looking for a plus-sized heroine in a high-heat romance with suspenseful elements, I would recommend Haven by Rebekah Weatherspoon.

What’s next for you? Anything you can share?

Some really exciting stuff! The Dark Olympus series has been contracted out through seven books to date, and the third will be releasing in June. It’s called Wicked Beauty, and it’s a romance with Achilles, Patroclus, and Helen.
