It’s been quite awhile since I’ve done a top ten Tuesday! While I’m not sure if I’ll do it every week, I do have plans to sprinkle them in when the prompts speak to me.
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.
Prompt: New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2021
Other than the last couple months of 2021, last year was a really good reading year for me! I decided to focus more on the books that really interested me instead of the majority of the popular young adult books that I had been forcing myself to read in previous years. I ended up finding a lot of new to me authors that I absolutely adore and they’re now at the top of my want to read lists.
While this is called top ten Tuesday, my list is only going to have six this week. I’m very excited that all of these authors on this list are indie authors though!

Tate James
Tate James is by far one of my absolute favorites that I started reading from in 2021. Her books are absolutely captivating and even though she’s an absolute menace when it comes to cliffhangers, I can’t help but binge her books even when a series isn’t complete.
I highly recommend the Madison Kate series and then after that the Hades series!

Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti
While this may be two authors and they each do have a few books on their own, the majority of their books are co-written. These two authors are actually sisters and I absolutely love their works as well. I’ve read quite a few of their books, but still have a list almost as long of ones I still want to read. Like Tate James, their cliffhangers are some of the worst and I probably should wait until a series is finished to read, but I love to torture myself sometimes.
From what I’ve read, I would highly recommend the Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep series. This series actually starts what is known as the United States of Anarchy series which interconnects Brutal Boys of Everlake Prep with The Harlequin Crew series and the Dead Men Walking series.

Eva Chance (pen name for Eva Chase) & Harlow King
While I haven’t read much from Eva Chance and haven’t read any under Eva Chase, this is definitely an author duo that I was excited to find in 2021.
I haven’t finished the series yet, but I loved what I’ve read so far of the Crooked Paradise series!

Caitlyn Dare
This is another author duo, but this time the authors write under one pen name. I’ve only read part of one series from them, but I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to read more.
Savage Falls Sinners MC ended up being exactly what I wanted at the time after stumbling upon a TikTok advertising it. I binged what was published in the series so fast and then was sad I had to wait to read more.

Eva Ashwood
I love Eva Ashwood books! I read quite a few of them in 2021 and it’s honestly hard to pick a favorite of them.
I’m going to suggest the Slateview High series for this author. This was the first series I read from Eva Ashwood and it catapulted me into a love of her books and a binge fest!

Bea Paige
Do you ever go into a series expecting one thing and then get that plus so much more? That’s what happened to me with Bea Paige books. This is especially true for the Academy of Stardom series. While I read this near the beginning of 2021, it’s a book that has stuck with me so much since reading it. As a dance mom, I’ve read quite a few books that have dance as an aspect. Never before have I felt like I was watching a video of someone dancing while reading a book until I started Freestyle.
I highly recommend this series! It’s still one of my favorites from Bea Paige.
Who are some new to you authors you read from and loved in 2021?

It sounds like 2021 was a great reading year for you. 🙂

The first book cover looks familiar, but that’s it. I’ve never heard of the others. I’m glad you found some new authors to love in 2021!
Happy TTT!
