I’m so excited to be a part of the book tour for Dark Magic that is hosted by TBR and Beyond Tours. I was really excited to also be able to interview the author for this book!
INTERVIEW
How would you describe Dark Magic in one sentence?
A cinematic, action-packed new adult paranormal fantasy novel where the Goddess of Death faces the Devil and her feelings towards humanity.
Can you introduce us to the main character(s) of Dark Magic?
Primrose Titan is the Goddess of Death and the strong female protagonist in Dark Magic. She’s a sword-wielding, leather-jacketed heroine, and the quiet and caring side of her personality is hidden by sarcastic banter, sass, and dark humor. Primrose is stubborn and independent to a fault, and she struggles with her emotions and the heavy burden of ruling the Underworld and reaping souls.
Do you know from the beginning how your books will end or do you let your characters decide their journey?
Generally, I know how my books end when I start writing them; however, the journey leading to the ending is a hundred percent up to the characters! Dark Magic was unique in that I only finalized the story’s ending after writing the first few chapters.
Do you have a favorite scene, moment, or quote from the book?
My favorite scene is Chapter 32: The Goat and the Snake, which includes an intense and highly anticipated battle between armies.
What is something readers will find in Dark Magic that they may not realize based on the
synopsis?
Primrose and Lucifer have a more profound history than the reader might expect at first glance. Besides the fact that Lucifer was once one of the generals of the Four Armies of Hell back in the day, he and Primrose had a romantic relationship in the past. Dark Magic doesn’t fully explore their former relationship; however, a future spinoff, Magic Aflame, will delve deeper into what happened between the Goddess of Death and the Devil hundreds of years ago…
What’s something you hope readers will take away from Dark Magic?
Readers should live their lives to the fullest extent! A significant theme in Dark Magic is that all life ends with death. Death is often sudden and unexpected, so spending time with the people you love and living in the moment is incredibly important.
What are three books you would recommend if someone enjoyed Dark Magic?
If you’re a fan of the snarky humor from Dark Magic, I would recommend Crescent City by Sarah J. Maas, and if you enjoy angsty adventures, then From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout is also a fantastic read! On the other hand, if you love reading books with many twists and turns, Storm Front by Jim Butcher might be a good fit for you.

The Goddess of Death, the Grimm Brothers, and the Devil collide in a thrilling new paranormal fantasy series.

Primrose knows this better than anyone, and her heavy responsibility has twisted her reality, purging her of all feelings for humans—or so she believes.
When the Demon King Lucifer escapes his prison in Hell and threatens chaos on the human world, Primrose must hunt him down. The High Court, a council of deities, is skeptical Primrose can handle Lucifer on her own and appoints the handsome yet icy Atlas Grimm, one of the fabled Grimm Brothers, to assist her.
