I’m so excited to be a part of the book tour for Soul of the Deep that is hosted by TBR and Beyond Tours. I was really excited to also be able to interview the author for this book!
INTERVIEW
How would you describe Soul of the Deep in one sentence?
Soul of the Deep is a story of magic, rivalries, difficult love, and strength.
Can you introduce us to the main character(s) of Soul of the Deep?
Simidele is a girl who has been remade in the image of a goddess, she’s a mermaid who has shown great courage. In facing down those who would see war between two kingdoms and the end of the world, she continues to pursue doing the right thing.
Do you know from the beginning how your books will end or do you let your characters decide their journey?
It changes. I think that having an outline is very important but so is letting the story breathe and grow legs. It will go where it wants to!
What is something readers will find in Soul of the Deep that they may not realize based on the synopsis?
I can’t say more without ruining the book but… alliances and personal growth.
What’s something you hope readers will take away from Soul of the Deep?
That love has many sides to it…
What are three books you would recommend if someone enjoyed Soul of the Deep?
Raybearer, The Gilded Ones, Children of Blood and Bone.

One life.
One choice.
One sacrifice.
To save those closest to her, Simi traded away everything: her freedom, her family, and the boy she loves. Now she is sworn to serve a new god, watching over the Land of the Dead at the bottom of the ocean.
But when signs of demons begin to appear, it’s clear there are deeper consequences of Simi’s trade. These demons spell the world’s ruin . . . and because of Simi, they now have a way into the human realm.
With the fate of the world at stake, Simi must break her promise and team up with a scheming trickster of a god. And if they succeed, perhaps Simi can also unbreak her heart along the way, and find herself again.
