Iron Hearts and Dragon Magic | Author Interview | Book Tour

I’m so excited to be a part of the book tour for Iron Hearts and Dragon Magic that is hosted by TBR and Beyond Tours. I was really excited to also be able to interview the author for this book!

INTERVIEW

How would you describe Iron Hearts and Dragon Magic in one sentence?

Twins have bitten more than they can chew.

Can you introduce us to the main character(s) of Iron Hearts and Dragon Magic?

Naia – a princess from the kingdom of Umbraar. Fierce, independent, not used to luxury, but at the same time she’s quite sensitive and romantic. She’s an ironbringer (can manipulate metal).

Fel – Naia’s twin brother. He has a physical disability, and having to make up for that made his magic quite strong.  He’s also an ironbringer, like his sister, but much more powerful.

River – a white fae, or Ancient. He’s a walking spoiler, sorry.

Leah – The Frostlake princess, learning necromancy.

Do you know from the beginning how your books will end or do you let your characters decide their journey?

I have an idea where I want to go, but I let the characters pick their journeys.

Do you have a favorite scene, moment, or quote from the book?

I like all the scenes when characters are reunited.

What is something readers will find in Iron Hearts and Dragon Magic that they may not realize based on the synopsis?

Large worldbuilding. The world really got bigger in this book, and it veers more towards epic fantasy than romantic fantasy, I think.

What’s something you hope readers will take away from Iron Hearts and Dragon Magic?

How anger blinds us, and the importance of forgiveness, even self-forgiveness.

What are three books you would recommend if someone enjoyed Iron Hearts and Dragon Magic?

Can I recommend my own books? It’s super tacky, I know. It’s just that I didn’t write these books inspired by any books, and, right now, from the top of my head, can’t think of anything with the same vibe/mood. I’m not saying this book is unique, I’m saying I’m not book savvy like all you awesome book reviewers.

The series Kingdom of Curses and Shadows is a lot lighter and funnier, but has some similar topics. Kissing Magic is a great enemies to lovers novel (and it’s free). My space opera Star Spark is slow and weird, but I think that if people like my writing, they might like it. Proceed at your own risk.
